I very much disagree with your assessment of Nietzsche. The full quote also contains "and all the water in the world will not be enough to wash away the blood", because he was actually decrying the decline of religious values, giving way to what he called nihilism, which was way more harmful than anything religion could do. And he was right - look at what happened during the 20th century. No idea why Max would overlook something so essential, it's downright reddit tier. Non-deistic religions such as f4$c1$m were born out of the same heretical cloth as the old gnostics that christians and others tried to fight in their time. I, much like Nietzsche, am an atheist who can appreciate the values that religion can bring to the individual and society, and view as tragic the loss of it, for what would replace it would be much, much worse. If you want more insight into this game, I highly suggest studying the way that Japan has viewed the divine throughout time. Now that is 1. more relevant 2. quite interesting in its own, rather tragic way, and of a different nature to the western totalitarian regimes.

Long time fan here...almost 40y old and this one was annoying - a kids game with absolute asstake themes. If this is a taste for the writing for the incoming games I would prefer replaying Downpour 10times tbh. The run-around-the-monster2-times-and-split-around-the-corner "puzzle" wasnt the best thing either... Sadly wasnt impresive when they made me do it a second time in 40minutes too. Holy hell Masahiro Ito did good, but everything else is just slop.

I think what she saw was 1st a blanket of piece, then the truth. That there is a God, and there is a purpose. Madame was so fsr from her purpose that she would never get the chance to see what a Martyr would see. There was no amount of pain she could cause herself that would allow her to see the beauty of Truth and she gave up and took the easy way to death. I think in many ways the fall of society is much like the story of this movie. Aside the violence of a dying world, there is still purity in sacrifice. To willing suffer by not taking the easy path of the freedoms in this world. Only through saying no to temptations, and feeling the consequences of having no protections other than faith that there is a God can we really have the freedom that we so desperately desire. Only thru faith can we be martyrs and not villains.

I don't want to come across as hyperbolic, but I would say this is a modern gaming masterpiece. Managing to tell a story forcing the unaware player to consider philosophical points combined with all the other aspects; the story telling, the music, the visuals, set pieces and overall gameplay. A lot of games have their deeper meanings missed by the wider audience because there's just that 1% missing from the game itself causing them to just go through the motions and finish the game or even drop it.

I fight for what I think is right too in this era and place. Even if it sounds bad, I had to tell at least 1 teacher each year for the past 3 years how to teach and how they're wrong. It's true that my emotions got the better of me, but in those moments I was the one fighting for a better end, for people to learn better, instead of following aimlessly to anyone who seems superior at the bare minimum; I chose to fight for information and for human thinking, because these subjects are related to math and physics, thinking was something crucial; otherwise, being an engineer who just calculates random numbers like the people who worked at that factory in that Chaplin's movie can and will result in chaos. Another problem involved in what I've lived in these years of highschool is that, with the growth of AIs, many people stopped thinking and just went to believe other sources who seemed reliable at minimum, because they look professional of how much information they can gather in comparison to us, because of how well they can explain in comparison to us; trusting something like this is something I totally disagree with, if someone is granted with the possibility and tools necessary to change these algorithms, it will truly be GW in the real world. Chaos will arise, if the virtual enslavement of the mind doesn't happen first.

I had a moment of profound realization when I noticed that game uses same base models but with just a few small "makeup" details it can go from red-eyed evil killer robot intimidatingly spinning its hands to naive child helplessly flailing its hands in desperation. Base models... like human bodies... are roughly the same but our perspective CAN (and WILL) be manipulated through such simple things, and our human emotions can swing from hatred to compassion so easy... SO EASY... at some point I literally stood among the desolation field of the game and stared at this idea. And that was just one of the many things that game invoked in me.

Talos is a very unique game that cannot be appreciated by the usual gaming audience. It is when you are mature as a personality, this is when you need to play this game.

I like how if you want to control a dragon that you yourself must sacrifice an important faculty. ( Fertility, Sight, Voice) . A Faustian Bargain. Want alot of power? Then you must give up something just as great.

Its hard to complain about a free to play game with 0 pay to win mechanics. I think its a very flawed but worth while playing. The hallway chases were too dark and unforgiving.

I just finished nier on the base of the reccommendation in this vide (and bcs it was on sale on steam). Even though I agree with the overall profoundness of the story the gameplay made the game allmost unbearable. Repetetive combat and hacking sections and countless fetch sidequests made me barely survive up until the very end
